This watch is equipped with a high-grade movement, known for its superb craftsmanship, which started production in December 1964 and features a hacking (seconds hand stop) function. Mechanisms with this added device to regulate the special seconds hand are known to be difficult to acquire due to their short manufacturing period of about one year and the small number of existing units. This is the Seiko King Seiko manual-winding Ref. 44-9990. It is appealing for its simplicity, featuring a silver dial and dauphine hands. While there is some age-related deterioration on the dial and crystal, overall it is in good condition. The case has minor scratches, but no major damage. The hands can be adjusted smoothly. An aftermarket leather strap is attached.
