This watch is equipped with a high-quality movement, known for its superb craftsmanship, which began production in December 1964 and features a hacking (seconds hand stop) function. Watches with this special mechanism for regulating the seconds hand are known to be difficult to obtain because they were produced for only a short period of about one year and are rare. This is a Seiko King Seiko hand-wound Ref. 44-9990. The silver dial with dauphine hands has an appealing simplicity. Although the dial and crystal show some signs of age-related deterioration, the watch is generally in good condition. The case has some minor scratches, but no significant damage from use. The hand-setting operation is smooth. An aftermarket leather strap is attached.
